This Saturday, May 24, 2025 we will be holding a charity fundraiser at Kava Culture Estero in the Miramar Outlets from 9 am until 1 pm or until we run out of CINNAMON ROLLS & FRESHLY SQUOZEN JUICE! All proceeds will go to the GoFundMe for Mr Matt Wallace, linked below. Matt Wallace is a lee county public servant and real life super hero. It is with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth that I proudly announce the final chapter of the Restoratives Cafe story. When my brother and I cooked up the concept for a restaurant in Estero back in 2013, we borrowed the origin story of the very first restaurant, as told in Larousse Gastronamique. In the story, a clever cook named Boulangere, starts selling soup on a Paris street corner, but to skirt laws forbidding this, he billed his brew as a Restorative. A magic potion. Smoke and mirrors delivering sheep's feet in white sauce to a weary world. He said, "Come unto me, ye who labor on your stomachs and I shall restore you." I, like Boulangere before me, said that phrase tongue in cheek. One soup hustler to another.
In the 8 + years that we have served Estero, we have seen so much change. We went from a DIY startup in an empty strip mall in a dirt patch of US 41, to the heart of a community. In hindsight, it feels like that Magic Restorative wasn't a joke after all.
I want to thank each and every person who enjoyed a meal with us, raising a glass to toast, or put their lives back together quietly over strong coffee. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting me and my family all these years.
We will be here until mid December, and then we will be taking a long, we'll earned rest. There is time to see us, have a meal or just say Bon Voyage, and we look forward to it. (Please try not to hug us to death)
In my life I have cooked for diplomats and heads of state, Generals, celebrities, athletes and Rock and Roll Royalty, but it has been my greatest honor to cook for you Estero.
