Today is a VERY special day for us at our Ephrata Main Street location. We’re getting a brand new, beautiful front porch!!

This has been a very long time coming (and a big need), but alas, we didn’t own our building for these last 14 wonderful years of business.

This past August Jason and I officially purchased the gorgeous, historical Mentzer Building. The now official true HOME of Scratch! 🥹

I used to get my hair done in this building when I was just a little girl (Randy Rick’s). I grew up in my daddy’s parsonage right down the street on Chestnut Street. The owner, Denise, attended our church and did all of my homecoming/prom updo’s, and hair cuts. I would lay my head in her shampoo bowl, admiring the beautiful tin ceiling above, thinking,’I hope I get to own my own business one day.’ A dream God put in my heart. I simply cannot believe it truly IS a part of my story now. Only God! 🙌🏻❤️

We are immensely grateful to Mainspring of Ephrata for their hard work and diligence in securing us a partial grant to be put towards the restoration of this beautiful historical landmark.

We have a lot of new plans for this space. More remodeling will be on the way. We are planning to add dinner hours (FREE parking after 6pm!) AND a very exciting partnership is in the works on something extra special.

January 2027 marks the 15th anniversary of Scratch. I think it just might be our best year yet. 💛

We are officially HIRING for our upcoming End of Summer/Fall/Winter season at Scratch! ☀️🍂 We are looking to add to ALL positions on our crews at all 3 locations. We have full-time & part-time positions available.

We are looking to hire on the following positions…

Downtown Ephrata Main Street store associates: Full-time positions available, Mon-Sat: 8am-4pm/9am-5pm (nights off! Sundays off!) tip sharing, must be 18 or older. Must have a valid drivers license/or reliable transportation. This position includes register/barista/light food prep.

Brownstown store associates: Full-time and part-time positions available, Mon-Sun 7am-5pm (hours will vary/nights off!) tip sharing, must be 18 or older. Must have a valid drivers license/or reliable transportation. This position includes register/barista/light food prep.

Brownstown Line Cook/Prep Cook: Full-time and part-time positions available, Mon-Sun 7am-5pm (hours will vary/nights off!) tip sharing, must be 18 or older. Must have a valid drivers license/or reliable transportation. This position includes running the grill, all food production and prep, etc.
