🥟 Meet Yahor! 🇵🇱☀️

One of the things we look forward to every summer is welcoming international students to our team, and this year we’re excited to introduce Yahor!

Yahor is currently studying Real Estate Management in Poland, where he has lived and studied for the past three years. Originally from Belarus, he moved to Poland to pursue his education and new opportunities. This summer is his first trip across the Atlantic, and we’re happy he chose Door County and Prince of Pierogi as part of his American adventure.

Yahor joined our team at the end of May and will be with us through mid-September. During that time, he’s been learning every aspect of restaurant operations—from customer service and hospitality to cooking and food preparation. He enjoys making food look as good as it tastes, brings a positive attitude every day, and consistently gives 100% effort in everything he does.

His favorite pierogi? 🥟 Cheese & Potato.

And if you’ve talked food with him, you’ve probably heard him mention one of his other favorites: Barszcz (Polish beet soup). 🇵🇱

Yahor is excited to gain valuable work experience in the United States, continue improving his English, meet people from around the world, and learn how a growing small business operates. Of course, spending an entire summer surrounded by pierogies doesn’t hurt either! 😄

You’ll find Yahor helping at both of our locations, although he’s primarily based at our Sturgeon Bay restaurant. If you see him, be sure to say hello and make him feel welcome!

🔥 Fyr Bal Festival is almost here in Ephraim! As Door County celebrates the Summer Solstice, we’re expecting a busy and exciting weekend. We look forward to serving both locals and visitors as they enjoy one of the area’s most unique traditions.

🥟☀️ Summer is almost here in Door County! ☀️🥟

The kids are almost out of school, the days are getting longer, and we’re getting ready for what we hope will be another busy and exciting summer season!

We’ve had a great spring so far, and we want to sincerely thank everyone who stopped by this past week. It has been so much fun reconnecting with returning customers, meeting new faces, and seeing familiar friends walk through our doors again. ❤️

We’re also excited about the team we’re building this year. Our new staff members are integrating well, learning quickly, and helping us provide the friendly service and delicious Polish food that Prince of Pierogi is known for. We currently have 5 international students working with us from around the world, with a few more joining us soon. We love being part of a program that allows young people to experience Door County while sharing their cultures and work ethic with our community.

How about a fresh cabbage roll?

We make them with meat - ground beef, caramelized onion, parsley, tomato paste and rice (plus secret spices).

Don’t eat meat? No worries!
We make Vegan Cabbage Rolls as well - we substitute the meat with a blend of red, orange, yellow peppers and mushrooms. Topped with tomato sauce and parsley!

We are open at both locations daily 11-8.

Come hang out, have a Polish beer and indulge into some authentic Polish food.

🥟🇵🇱 EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION POST 🇵🇱🥟

Meet Yiseli, one of the friendly faces you’ll see at Prince of Pierogi this season!

Yiseli is 21 years old and comes from Bonao, Dominican Republic, where she is currently studying Psychology. This summer, she joined us through the Work & Travel USA Program, which allows university students to spend several months working in the United States while experiencing American culture and traveling before returning home to continue their education.

After the season ends, Yiseli plans to visit New York City before heading back to the Dominican Republic in September to continue her studies.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with students from the Dominican Republic in previous years, and we’ve always had great experiences. Yiseli has continued that tradition. She quickly learned the job, works hard, has a positive attitude, and consistently provides excellent customer service to our guests. Her outgoing personality, sense of humor, and warm smile make her a wonderful addition to our team, and we’re grateful to have her with us this season.

As we wrap up the month of May, we’d also like to thank all of our customers, locals, seasonal residents, and visitors who stopped by to support us during the start of another season. It’s been exciting to reopen our doors, reconnect with familiar faces, meet new guests, and share our family’s Polish recipes with the community once again.

Seeing people try Polish food for the first time, hearing your feedback, and watching your reactions to our pierogi, cabbage rolls, kielbasa, soups, and desserts is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
