This week reminded me of something I’m still learning over and over again…
You can care deeply about something without letting every single opinion about it consume you.
I pour so much of myself into this business. I notice the little things. I worry about the things that probably no one else even sees. I replay situations in my head and wonder what we could have done differently or better. And when someone has something negative to say, I can let that one voice get louder in my head than a hundred kind ones.
But this week, I was reminded just how loved and supported we really are.
That doesn’t mean we think we’re perfect. We never will. We’re going to make mistakes, have off days, learn lessons, change things and keep growing. That’s part of owning a small business and honestly, that’s part of life.
I never want to lose the part of me that cares this much because I think that’s what keeps pushing us to be better. But I am trying to learn that caring doesn’t mean I have to carry everything home with me.
Sometimes you have to take the lesson, appreciate the people who love you, give yourself a little grace and keep moving forward.
So that’s what I’m doing.
Another week down, another week of learning, and another week feeling incredibly thankful for the people who continue to walk through our doors, encourage our staff and support this little dream of ours.
