Today, Fern in the Wild gets to represent not only our little downtown Ennis restaurant, but the idea that small-town dreams, scratch-made food, hard work, family, hospitality, and community still matter.

Morgan & Puddin will be live this morning making our Razzleberry Pie and talking about the story behind Fern in the Wild.

We’ll also be sharing more about our Fern’s Founder initiative helping us upgrade our kitchen so we can continue growing into catering, private events, party trays, and more.

POWER UPDATE ⚡️

Due to the outage, product loss, cleanup, and the time it takes to restock and remake all of our sauces, proteins, prep, and housemade items, Fern in the Wild will remain closed through lunch tomorrow. We are planning to reopen Wednesday evening for dinner service.

Unfortunately, we will NOT have Coach’s Talk or Chicken Fried Steak this week, but we would truly love your support while we get our little ship back afloat.

Current restaurant status:
• emotionally unstable
• fueled by caffeine
• missing our people

Morning update ⚡️

We’re still dealing with the aftermath of the power outage and doing a full food safety reset before making any reopening decisions. Right now, we won’t be opening for regular service.

We know it’s inconvenient and trust us, nobody is more heartbroken than the people currently moving 200 lbs of dry ice around a restaurant before coffee ☕️🫠

We’ll keep everyone posted throughout the morning as we learn more. Thanks for hanging with us while we get Fern’s back on its feet

Starting Thursday, fencing will be installed around the festival grounds — and yes, that includes us. Fern’s will still be fully open and accessible to pedestrians, but our usual parking will not be available. Plan to park nearby and walk in. We promise it’s worth it. 💗
