UPDATE: PLANNED POWER OUTAGE WILL PROCEED TONIGHT

We understand that some customers in this area experienced storm-related outages overnight; we cannot control the location or severity of storms.

We also understand a scheduled outage tonight is frustrating and inconvenient, but it is necessary for us to continue to strengthen the system and help reduce the frequency of future outages.

After careful consideration, we will be proceeding with the planned outage tonight as scheduled.

Projects of this size require many hours of planning and coordination, including working with TDOT to arrange traffic control and lane closures. Rescheduling the work would require starting that coordination process over and further delay the reliability improvements planned for this area.

The purpose of tonight’s work is to improve the electrical system and help reduce the potential for future outages. Postponing the project simply delays the improvements needed to strengthen service reliability.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to make these important upgrades. Our goal is not only to restore power when outages occur but also to make improvements that help prevent future outages.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to provide more reliable service to the area.

PLANNED POWER OUTAGE – JULY 29, 2026

AUB power crews will be performing a three-phase reconductor project on Hwy 39 E to help improve service reliability and reduce the potential for future outages in the area.

Affected areas include: Hwy 39 E, County Roads 463, 464, 467, 470 and 476,
Burger Branch Road and Lane, and Adams Road.

📅 Date: Wednesday, July 29, 2026

🕤 Time: 9:30 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

🚧 Traffic Notice: Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work zone. Please use caution and allow extra travel time.

🔌 Planned Power Outage: A planned power outage is scheduled during this work window. We do not expect the outage to last the entire time, but we are planning for the maximum outage duration so customers can be prepared.
