Hey friends - we still have plenty of tickets available for this weekend's Sunday gathering featuring Chicken and Sausage Gumbo!
I swear this is the best gumbo you can get around here, and fall is the perfect weather for it! Meal includes:
bowl of gumbo (shrimp available on the side)
salad of local greens and veggies
homemade corn bread
apple-pear crisp

These are family friendly dinners, kids under 13 are half price.
relaxed atmosphere - eat in the carriage house, on the porch, or take it to go.

Year 5 of {las vive} officially begins!

May and June has kept me super busy with private events, so it was nice to finally host a {las vive} farm to table dinner!
What a lovely evening with a wonderful group of people.

Next is our Sunday gathering - carne asada on July 27. Sunday gatherings are a bit more casual and family friendly.

First dinner of the season in the carriage house - a private event. It’s always nice to get the space cleaned and up and running. The lawn is looking good and the gardens are starting to bloom. Trying out some “new” wall decorations, and flameless candles.
And of course, the food. 🩷

So... I have been doing that thing I do. It's not quite ready, but I have started filling up the calendar with summer gathering dates!
There's a lot on the plate - getting the B&B going is keeping me busy and I've got private events popping up, so I need to catch my breath - but dates and themes will be announced by April 10.
Also- we will be having an open house for the B&B, to find out more give us a follow on Shaker Hill Bed & Breakfast.

Hi friends,

I hope this finds you well. It’s wild to think we’re already three weeks into the new year—somehow both “already” and “only” at the same time.

Before anything else, thank you for such an incredible 2025 season. We pulled off 20+ events, which still feels a little unreal. The Sunday Suppers have become some of my personal favorites, so keep an eye out—there will definitely be more of those this summer.

A quick update on {las vive}: we’re taking a short pause on dinners, so no supper clubs on the calendar at the moment. I’m in the middle of taking over the B&B and finding a new rhythm, which means focusing on the decidedly unglamorous parts of running a business—website updates, planning, ordering supplies, all that good stuff. We may bring back a few dinners in March, but for now I’m giving myself the space to settle in.

As part of the website refresh, I’m excited to share that Carriage House Events Co. is adding a new catering option: Grazing Tables! They’re flexible, customizable, and perfect for all kinds of gatherings. I’ll have more details—pricing, ideas, sample setups—on the site in the next couple of weeks.

I’m also booking private events for 2026, both here on the property and off-site. If you’ve got something in mind, I’d love to hear about it.

And don’t worry—{las vive} events will return. Winter is our season for quieting down, tightening up systems, and enjoying the simple things like snowshoeing and XC skiing on our trails. A little recharge goes a long way.
