For us, Gusto has always been more than a festival. It was one special day a year when Joe got to work side by side with his dad, Mr. D. A day filled with family, food, laughter, and Mr. D singing in Italian for everyone to hear. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special, and somehow, when he was there, Gusto just felt a little more Italian.

Alongside him was Mr. Briga, another unforgettable part of the heart and soul of this tradition. Two men whose presence helped make Gusto feel like home. They may no longer be standing beside us, but anyone lucky enough to have experienced those days knows that a piece of them will always be there.

This year felt a little more special. Joe got to experience Gusto with HIS kids by his side, we got to welcome baby Briga into the Gusto family, and for a moment, everything felt beautifully full circle. Two families, another generation, still sharing the tradition they helped create.

We can only imagine Mr. D and Mr. Briga looking down, proud and smiling, knowing the bond between our families is still going strong. 🇮🇹❤️

CUSTARD IS BACK 🍦🍦
Since our ice cream machine went down on Monday, we have exhausted every single resource available to us trying to get it running again. What we hoped would be a quick repair turned into one failed solution after another, and every time we thought we had an answer, another problem pushed our timeline back.

We completely understand the frustration. We were frustrated too. And we are truly sorry to every person who made a trip to see us only to find out we still couldn’t serve custard.

We also want to explain a little bit about what happens behind the scenes when something like this occurs.

We are a small, independently owned business. We don’t have a corporate maintenance department, backup equipment sitting in a warehouse, or a technician on staff who can be here at a moment’s notice. The only technician in our area who specializes in this particular equipment comes from Syracuse, and the other HVAC and refrigeration professionals we reached out to have their own businesses, customers, and schedules. As badly as we wanted someone here immediately, we were ultimately working around THEIR availability.

Thank you to everyone who was patient. Thank you to those who offered kind words instead of frustration. Thank you to our employees who handled a difficult week with grace. And thank you to the people who worked with us to finally get this machine running again.
