Today, our wildland fire family is mourning an unimaginable loss.

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, three brave wildland firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the Knowles and Gore Fires along the Colorado–Utah border. Two additional firefighters were injured in the line of duty and remain in our thoughts as they recover.

There are no words that can truly ease the pain felt by their families, friends, and fellow firefighters. These courageous Firefighters answered the call without hesitation, placing themselves in harm’s way to protect lives, communities, and our nation’s natural resources.

Please keep the families of the fallen, the injured firefighters, and every member of the fire service in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Their courage, commitment, and selfless sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Firefighters . Your final watch is over. We will carry your legacy forward, and we will never forget your sacrifice.

Update ⚠️
Wow thank you for coming in the last few days and supporting us. We are sold out of food. With that being said we are CLOSED. In preparation for the upcoming fire season, Mad River Station will be closed from today June 24th through October. Although this decision was not taken lightly, it is essential for me to continue working in the fire industry while ensuring the well-being of our business and the peace of mind of our family members who manage the home front. If you possess a gift certificate, please contact us so we can arrange for redemption at another local restaurant.
On a special note, we would like to acknowledge the bravery of all firefighters being deployed this season, and ask you keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Classic cars are starting to lineup for the car show. And don’t forget fireman hose competition. Maybe we are kind of biased, but we love firemen 🚒🔥🚒.
