Oakland has always been part of the Trader Vicā€™s story. šŸ¹In 1934, Vic Bergeron opened a little saloon on San Pablo Avenue called Hinky D***s. A few years later, it became Trader Vicā€™s. In 1944, the Mai Tai was created in Oakland, and a local cocktail story started traveling a lot farther than anyone could have imagined. Now Trader Vicā€™s has headed back to Oakland with a new Outpost at Oakland Airport. For travelers, longtime fans, and anyone who knows what this city means to the brand, this one feels full circle. The new Mole Kumu Oakland Mug was created for Trader Vicā€™s Oakland Airport location, with a name that speaks to foundation and origin. ā€œMoleā€ refers to the primary taproot of a tree, while ā€œKumuā€ denotes the trunk or base. Inspired by conversations with Oakland artist Timothy B. and his work with the Bay Area Mural Program, the design brings together two symbols: Oakland and the palm tree of Trader Vicā€™s.
