**Let’s talk shrimp. American shrimp. Wild-caught shrimp. The shrimp we proudly serve at Snapperz.**
At both **Snapperz Morehead City and Emerald Isle**, all of our shrimp are **Gulf Gold DOMESTIC U.S. WILD-CAUGHT WHITE SHRIMP**, packaged by Paul Piazza Shrimp Company.
And here’s something people may not realize: **the white shrimp we buy from the Gulf are the SAME SPECIES as the white shrimp caught here in North Carolina**, commonly called green tails. Different waters. Same species.
Supplying seafood restaurants across Carteret County takes a tremendous amount of shrimp. Buying from the Gulf helps us secure the volume and consistent supply our two locations need while supporting **American shrimpers and their livelihoods.**
To be clear, Gulf-caught doesn’t mean North Carolina-caught. We tell you where ours come from because you deserve a straight answer. **Our shrimp are U.S. wild-caught—not imported, not farm-raised.**
With the recent shrimp-testing reports, neither Snapperz location has been tested. The published list recognizes restaurants whose sampled shrimp passed; it isn’t a complete list of every restaurant serving domestic wild-caught shrimp. **We would gladly welcome testing of ours.**
Snapperz has a 16-year history of serving fresh local or domestic seafood. We know what we buy; we have the invoices to back it up, and we are proud to put our name behind what we serve.
**Domestic. U.S. Wild-Caught. Every shrimp. Both locations.**
