Mama's Cantina is opening this fall in Metairie on Veterans Blvd.

I am sad to report that we have pulled out of the location in Metairie. When we signed the lease back in March, we had high hopes for post-Covid life that took an unexpected turn for the worse with the Delta variant. By the time Hurricane Ida rolled around, we were three months behind schedule, our chef had found another job, and none of the electrical or HVAC was up to code. The hurricane was the last nail in the coffin as the expenses and delays became too big of a burden for us to bear. This may not be the last you've heard from Mama, but we couldn't make it happen at this point in time. Hopefully, you'll be able to get some of our nachos and margaritas in the future. We still think 5200 Veterans is a great space for a restaurant if anyone is interested in it. It's just not going to work out for us. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

We're looking for a unicorn at our new restaurant opening this fall. Are you passionate about Mexican food, know how to manage a high-volume kitchen, want to put your own spin on a menu, and want to work in Metairie? If that's you, then send us your resume asap.

Along with a competitive salary, we are offering easily attainable bonuses, health, dental, vision, and life insurance 60% paid by the company. Also 7 vacation days and 7 paid days off after 6 months of employment, and 4 weeks paid maternity leave. Weekly expectations are 40-45 hours, including inventory. Restaurant will be closed Mondays and most major holidays. We hope to open on or around October 1st and hire date will be late August, early September.
