We're extremely sad to announce that our father, Bob McConnell, founder of McConnell's Hots, has passed away.
He's been a staple in the Elmira community for a very long time & was loved by many. He never had a lot himself but would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. He gave away free hot dogs to flood victims & rolled out his "pay it forward" initiative at the restaurant so those less fortunate could have food to eat.
He was always determined to be independent and do things himself. He broke powerlifting records in his 60s and re-built his house with the help of friends after it burnt down. He knows hard work better than anyone, and I wouldn't be where I am today with my career or values if not for what he taught me growing up.
He's an amazing father and would do anything to make sure we had the best holidays as kids. He always made sure to give us the biggest hugs and tell us how much he loved us. I'm going to miss those so much.
