Fall is here and it’s time to light the smokers for some good barbecue chicken plates!

Please consider supporting Mt. Zion HOPE Pantry with our Barbecue chicken plate sale Saturday, October 15th!!

1/2 Barbecue Chicken, BBQ Boiled Potatoes with Onions and Peppers, Fresh Cole Slaw and a Roll. All plates are $13 with all profits supporting our HOPE Pantry as we continue to feed and support those in need in our community. We feed many families each month.

Homemade Cake will be also available at pickup by the United Methodist Women!

Mercy Chefs is an international relief agency that has delivered over 20 million meals to those facing hardship and disaster -- has three mobile kitchens deploying in Florida to the areas of greatest need. Teams are working around the clock in conjunction with The American Red Cross.

We had a windy blast this past Saturday at Zackly-Rite Farms. The wind was straight from OZ at times and there was constantly to go boxes flying around like tumbleweeds but we dug ourselves in deep through the push! Thanks for your patience on that smoked chicken!

On Friday, we sold 274 bbq chicken plates, 22 gallons of bbq stewed potatoes, 3 tubs of fresh cole slaw and 9 gallons of molasses barbecue sauce.

Saturday, we smoked three whole briskets, 18 slabs of ribs, 18 beef hot link sausages, 20 # of 5G Local Pasture Raised Pork Butts and 12 chickens and we sold out in 1.5 hours. Big thanks to all of the pitmasters, cooks and volunteers that helped in these two endeavors.

This weekends two events raised over $5.5K in proceeds overall for the H.O.P.E Pantry at Mt. Zion UMC. A big thank you Wilson and Nash County for your support.

We will see you again very soon with some new sandwiches, some sweet treats and other new & delicious offerings!

Barbecue Chicken Plate Sale for pick up Friday March 18th, 2021 starting at 12:30pm-5:30pm. We will deliver orders of 20+ plates for free. ALL proceeds go to support H.O.P.E Pantry at Mt. Zion/UMC in Elm City, NC.

Wilson, NC residents have a median annual household income which is $23,676.00 less than than the National median household income average in the entire United States.

H.O.P.E Pantry is a grassroots community food pantry which has grown to now support 26 local households within this local community with the help of gracious everyday volunteers and leaders. Every month, two weeks worth of canned, fresh, frozen and dried foods are purchased, stored, packed out and delivered to those in need. These include families with children, the disabled as well as the elderly. This is community supporting community through food and nourishment.

Barbecue Chicken plates are $12 and come with Molasses Barbecue Sauce, Fresh Cole Slaw, Barbecue Stewed Potatoes and Bread.
