As of 5pm, Saturday, August 15th, 2026, the Sugar Shack officially closed up shop. It’s been a great 10 seasons of creating sweet, cold treats for ice cream fans, young & old. As I find the time I’ll share treasured memories & pictures. 🤍

The clock is ticking … 3 more business days of the 2026 Summer Season!! 🫣
I ordered a lot of ice cream mix thinking our customers would be coming down in droves - Mother Nature has forgotten to turn her oven off & we’ve been experiencing some scorcher heat🥵🥵 nobody wants to get out in it, no matter how great the ice cream is. So…….
tomorrow we shall celebrate the first day of school & last Friday of the season, treating preschool & elementary kids to a kid size shaved ice or ice cream cone/cup from 3:00-4:30. They are welcome to come in to the shop a few at a time to make their own cone or cup of ice cream - sorry, can’t turn them loose on the Black Swan (shaved ice machine). After washing their hands the girls will offer a bit of assistance to create their treat.
This is free for the kiddos, but tips are always appreciated 😉
I am also taking preorders for 1/2 gallons of ice cream - $6.50 vanilla; $7.50 for FlavorBurst. This will be on a ‘first ordered - first fulfilled’ basis. Send a note on FacebookMessenger or stop in at the shop to place your order. I will let you know on Monday when to pick up your ice cream.

Sold the last of the Big Butts yesterday.
Not sure if it’s because they are so good, so good, so good, so big, so big, so big, or if it’s because customers get a good giggle out of hearing “I’ve got a Big Butt” when it is served!! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😂
The girls don’t really like to say it but I’ve told them that if you’ve made your customers laugh you’ve done your job well 👍👍 It’s all about making lasting memories along the way!

We are getting low on our peach supply…I have 3 brothers & their wives arriving in a couple days…what’s that got to do with my supply of peaches, you wonder.🤷‍♀️
I was cleaning house like a mad woman all day when I looked up & saw it was after 7:00! Eek!!! Missed the peach truck! Then I remembered they would have them over in Salina the next day. Whew 😰 Saved!
Then…..I was informed the next morning that they were SOLD OUT…..FOR THE SEASON!!!!
NOOOO!!!!
Am sure my brothers will be greatly disappointed too! 🥴
Anyway, the Shack will be open 3-5:30 & 7-9 this week through Saturday. Closed on Sunday & Monday - then open again Tuesday-Friday, same hours. Saturday, the 15th, you’ll find us in the parade - opening directly afterwards until 5:00. This will be our last official day of
Season 10, and yes, of a decade of shop ownership. What a memorable ride it’s been! When I find the time, I’ll be sharing some memorable moments….I would love it if y’all would share some of your favorite memories at ‘The Shack’

We still have a few of the ‘My Sweet Gourd’ & ‘Big Butt’ sundaes on the menu this week along with the ‘Peaches & Dreams’.
Joining those featured sundaes today is the
‘Sweet Angel’ - a dollop of ice cream surrounded by homemade angel food cake bites, topped with fresh strawberry sauce & drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. Connie of ‘Good-‘E’ & Conn’s Creations’ bakes the most amazing homemade Angel Food Cake!
This sundae is very limited, so get it while you can 😍😍😍
Oh - forgot to mention that the lemon & banana puddings were made fresh today so the ‘LouLou Lemon’ & ‘Banana Cream’ sundaes are back!
