Our new visiting friends did not come in just once, but twice yesterday to get a heaping helping of 'Hailee's Blueberry Pie'.

We can not keep enough of this On the Horizon Bakery treat in house.

The Zach Sanderson Trio is a young, dynamic jazz group featuring musicians from the University of Maine.

Led by Zach Sanderson, with Owen Fitts on drums and Austin Chandler on bass, the trio performs a diverse repertoire ranging from jazz standards and creative reharmonizations to original compositions.

Drawing on each member’s experience in Maine’s local funk and fusion scene, the trio brings a fresh perspective to the classic jazz trio format.

Together, they’re exploring the traditions of jazz while bringing their own musical backgrounds, energy, and personality to the music, and we can't wait.

Jazz buff? Phone a friend. Let's give jazz a home in Downeast Maine!

The lights went dark at the Black Moon bar,
As neon faded on the regular crowd.
They locked up the doors to the world outside,
And made a run for the show, heavy and loud.

"One bourbon, one scotch, and one b**r,"
Yeah, the Delaware Destroyers were back in Maine.
With ZZ Top, the Texas-sized myth,
Surviving great loss and coping with pain.

First went the bottom, the steadfast bass,
As Dusty Hill slipped into the night.
The man with no beard, and a flawless beat,
Frank Beard and his drumsticks followed the light.

Tonight Reverend Billy stood out on the stage,
With a new band and smokin' groove.
The "Little Ol' Band" rocked hard for the fans,
Because the blues is an engine that just has to move.

Though the pillars have fallen and the ranks have grown thin,
The sharp-dressed shuffle refused to die.
The Black Moon closed just to listen close,
As the last men standing played up to the sky.

There are nine verses to this song about being late on rent,
and we all know the chorus.

"One drink ain't enough, you better make it three
Gonna get drunk and gonna make it clear
I want one bourbon, one scotch, and one b**r".

Happy Labor Day from Bangor, Maine.

Bridging a stylistic link between Washington County's dark literary underbelly and the raw punk and country energy of the 60's and 70's, c r e o s o t e breaks all the rules.

Easily weaving intricate, poetic lyrical themes with American roots music their sound borrows from rockabilly and blues, incorporates jazz-inflected strumming and excels in distinct, haunting vocal interplay and harmonies.

Yeah, we're watching this band!

The Somes Sound. Friday, September 11. 7pm.

The Somes Sound seamlessly blends organic instruments with a genre-defying vibe that is both familiar and refreshingly exciting.

Their boundary-pushing hybrid sound features rock'n'oll and traditional country music fueled by enthusiasm, rebellion and self-reflective psychological depth.

This show will feature two drummers adding to the loose, rakish, and ragged energy that the band is best known for.
