Halibut Puttanesca

Pan-seared Halibut over house made Bucatini pasta in a Puttanesca sauce of tomatoes, Kalamata Greek olives, capers, garlic, anchovies and pepperoncino. Finished with seasoned breadcrumbs.

🍂 New Fall Hours at River House on Main! 🍂

We’re looking forward to carrying our soft opening into the beautiful fall season in Old Ellicott City—one of our favorite times of year on Main Street.

As the season changes, so does Chef Nathan’s kitchen. Look for comforting Fall Chef Specials, including house-made Butternut Squash Soup, Minestrone Soup, and warm Baked Apple Cobbler à la Mode—with more seasonal dishes to come. 🍎🍁

Our New Fall Hours begin this week:

Wednesday–Friday | 4 PM–9 PM
Saturday–Sunday | 11 AM–9 PM
Monday & Tuesday | Closed

And there’s more coming soon! We’re using this next phase of our soft opening to continue dialing things in—including large-group reservation opportunities for celebrations, family gatherings and friends around the table, as well as the long-awaited expansion of our carry-out menu, ordering and pick-up process.

Main Street Music Festival is TOMORROW!

We’re also thrilled to welcome The Kelly Bell Band as our Main Stage headliner! A longtime favorite of the Baltimore blues scene, Kelly Bell Band will close out the day with their signature sound in Lot D.

Soft Opening Week 13 🍷

Lucky Week 13 is all about something new at River House on Main.

Chef Specials!

Each week, Chef Nathan will be adding a special dish to our evolving menu, giving us a chance to share something seasonal, inspired, and a little unexpected.

This week’s Chef Special is Spinach & Ricotta Gnudi. Soft, delicate Italian dumplings made with ricotta and spinach, almost like the filling of ravioli without the pasta.

Served in our house-made marinara, topped with Pecorino Romano, crispy seasoned breadcrumbs, tomato confit, and a drizzle of chive oil.

The Menu Is Evolving… and We’re Ready to Share It.

Twelve weeks in, and River House on Main continues to find its rhythm.

Our soft opening has given us the opportunity to listen, learn, refine—and keep creating. Along the way, our menus have been evolving too, and we thought it was finally time to give you a closer look.

From a leisurely brunch or casual lunch to dinner, drinks and a night out on Main Street, there really is something for everyone. You’ll find the River House favorites that started it all alongside house-made breads, fresh salads, stone-hearth pizzas, pastas, bistro-inspired dishes, cocktails and a few surprises that change with the week.

Some things are becoming favorites. Some are still evolving. And new ideas are always making their way out of the kitchen.

Nine weeks into our soft opening, we’re still pinching ourselves a little. What began as River House Pizza Co. has come home to Historic Ellicott City as something new — an elevated pizzeria + bistro with a whole new vibe.

FRESH PASTA IN THE HOUSE!

Our signature lasagna, layered with sweet Italian sausage, spinach and basil-ricotta, is back—and now it has some delicious new company.

🍝 Duck Confit Agnolotti — $32
House-made agnolotti filled with robiola, ricotta and mascarpone, served with tender duck confit, shallots, shiitake mushrooms, baby spinach and blistered tomatoes in a velvety white wine–duck jus.

The first five weeks have been an incredible journey.

You've helped us refine our menu, fine-tune our service, and shape River House on Main into the neighborhood gathering place we envisioned. Every reservation and walk-in, each conversation, and every bit of feedback have made us better.

As we head into week six, we'd love to introduce you to another side of the River House on Main experience.
