I want to sincerely thank you all for the support and love I’ve received this week. If you haven’t heard, Elkin is now home to 1 of just 55 individuals who passed the Advanced Sommelier Exam from the Court of Master Sommeliers this year
While I haven’t had the chance to respond to everyone personally, please know how truly grateful I am to each and every one of you. The encouragement from our small town of Elkin, NC, and the greater Yadkin Valley AVA over the past year has been astonishing and motivated me to work even harder.
I want to highlight my wife, Krystle, whose love and constant commitment to me passing this exam has been invaluable.
I was humbled to fly home Thursday night to a surprise celebration of over 75 of our faithful supporters that are all members of our small mountain community celebrating this achievement at The Wisdom Table late into the night. This green lapel pin is not only a personal win, but an accomplishment shared with the entire Elkin & NC wine community that provided me with such love and encouragement.
This week has been a powerful reminder of how special our community truly is. I know not everyone who took the exam is fortunate to be welcomed home with such warmth and celebration as I was—Elkin is extraordinary, and I’m proud to call it home.
