Let’s support the animals!! This coming Saturday 9/18 from 10am - 3pm. I will be selling cookies at the Lakeland Animal Shelter’s Whisker Walk! I will have a variety of cookies and cake pops for sale!

I will also have a very select number of these special “Whisker Walk” cookies for sale! ALL the proceeds from the sale of this cookie design will be donated to the Lakeland Animal Shelter!

Last week looked a little different for Farmhouse Sweets. So this post is too going to be a bit different. 🤍🐑

For the first time in six years, I stepped away from the kitchen and spent the week in the sheep barn watching Riley & her team show at Wisconsin State Fair. This was Riley’s for the very first time showing sheep at the state fair.

It was a powerful reminder that it takes a village.

In livestock and in business, there are so many people behind the scenes—teaching, encouraging, showing up, and believing. Farmhouse Sweets has never been built alone, just like Riley isn’t walking this journey alone.

For six years, I’ve been supported by customers who order, share, show up, and believe in this little cookie dream more than I ever could have imagined.

Last week, I wasn’t the baker. I was just Riley’s cheerleader, driver & photographer standing in a barn, overwhelmed with gratitude.

The cookies could wait.

Some moments are worth stepping out of the kitchen for 🤍🐑

Never would I have thought that I would decorate more sets of graduation cookies for the University of Mississippi than any other school!

🚨 Friendly reminder: These cookies don’t magically appear… unless my Cookie Fairy starts working overtime. Until then, it’s just me, a piping bag, and an absurd number of hours. 🍪😂

Yesterday I ran down the amount of ingredients that went into creating 7,392 hand decorated sugar cookies….Today let’s run down the time it takes.

From yesterday’s math I learned that from Jan 1 - July 1 I had created an average of 40 cookies a day over the first 185 days of the year.

So here is the approximate time that went into those cookies per day:
30 minutes to make dough
30 minutes to set up/clean up kitchen
1 hour to roll/cut & bake
1 hour to make & mix icing
1 hour to flood
6.5 hours for details - average 10 minutes a cookie
1 hour for photos/bagging & boxing

GRAND TOTAL = 11.5 hours per day to create 40 hand decorated cookies

Remember this number only takes into account the physical work with the cookies. No grocery shopping, no order taking, social media or behind the scenes work that has to happen before I can even make the cookies.

AND THE WINNER IS….. Yesterday I asked you to guess how many CUSTOM COOKIES I have decorated from 1/1/26 - 71/26.

So before I give you a winner let’s look at the stats about the amount of ingredients have gone into making these custom cookies.

205 = Batches of Dough - each batch makes approximately 40 cookies
512 = Pounds of Butter
820 = Cups of Sugar
170 = Dozen eggs or 2,050 eggs
102 = Cups of Vanilla
943 = Pounds of Flour

Those ingredients have created a total of 7,392 CUSTOM COOKIES from 1/1-7/1, that’s an average of 40 cookies per day.
