Ok… let’s talk about it..

Freshieez parking lot.. 😠😡😠
For years it’s been frustrating!!
The look.. the pot holes the gravel.. grrrrrrr even our pond.

Here is the issue.. storm water rushes in from CR6 and CR 11 when it rains. It should fill the ditches but it does not.

I would love to pave it. However those pot holes, they act as absorption holes so water can absorb into the ground when the parking lot floods. If i paved it, well the pond would never go away.

I could dig a big retention pond in the pic nic area.. but i would loose the ability to have any activities there as the hole needed for the retention pond would be so big.

The county and i put in a 750 gallon dry well to help. It does… but not enough to make it to where we can pave it.
We could pump the water away, would anyone like some water?

We could fix the culverts along 6 and 11.. that whole corner really… you know, where all the natural gas lines, fiber optic lines, and mass runs of others lines run. There is not one person that would want to dig anything up on that corner. Not even the county road crew.

It’s funny, I am approached all the time from paving companies, “Hey, we can pave your parking lot, make it look great!” … lol.. oh yea, where you going to put the storm water? … that pretty much ends that conversation….

I know how to fix it. Like I said, pump it away, like to the huge retention pond behind 7-11. But why would they want my storm water? Go figure…. MY STORM WATER. Technically it’s not mine. You see, the water belongs to the storm water commission of Elkhart county, and yes, they know of the issue and have no solution either… shhhh, don’t talk about it and it will go away.

Soooo….. what’s one to do?!?!

We will continue to make great food, hope one day the county fixes their engineering issues, hope people don’t mind a rough ride as they fly through cutting the corner as they don’t want to wait at the light.. and we will continue feeding our ducks when it rains.. 🤔🤔🤔😆😆

I mean, is life so horrible you just need to comment something derogatory when possible? Perhaps you represent the competition and its your job to monitor, in act and bully.
