Story Time:
So yesterday I’m out getting Velcro for a coffee sign…and a fiveStar, peanut butter and jelly sandwich when I get a text that the ground breaking for the new Hyatt Hotel was happening… and it’s like a 3 iron away from me and my sandwich so I go over in hopes of maybe connecting with folks and handing out some free drink cards.

It was WAY more than a casual stop!

Folks from the city met me enthusiastically as I approached and introduced me to every stakeholder on the property and told the property owner developer and the general contractor that we had an exceptional reputation and would take great care of them throughout the project!

I got in bed last night getting follow-up texts from people I met at the event letting me know it was a pleasure connecting. This hasn’t been my experience in other places I’ve lived…It was surreal.

I was honestly overwhelmed with optimism as I spent time with people so passionate about bringing a dignified face lift to this end of the city. In the public sector they have a sizable grant with which to beautify things and what seems to be a very eager private sector that is chomping at the bit to build out an economic environment we can be proud of.

Finally the people from WLKY News approached and asked to interview me and then even followed me back to Yokefellow so they could get more footage. This too was…crazy cool and glued a smile on my face the rest of the day:)

Plenty of reasons to give thanks yesterday, and so I did.

Today promises to give us a bunch more reasons to praise the Lord, so let’s do it!

We are so grateful to be on the journey with you, and for you.
