Today we tell you the story of the burrito. 🌯✨😋

During the Mexican Revolution, an ingenious vendor named Juan Méndez traveled the streets of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, on his donkey, offering huge flour tortillas filled with beans and other delicious ingredients. People, delighted with this peculiar preparation, began to call them "burritos."

But did you know that the history of the burrito begins much earlier? According to the Diccionario de Mejicanismos by Félix Ramos i Duarte, published in 1898, this dish was already known in Guanajuato as a "rolled tortilla, with meat or something else inside," also called codzito in Yucatán and taco in Cuernavaca and Mexico.
