Satisfy that craving for Mexican with a unique Elberto's taco or burrito. Now, in 2017, we're adding a food truck! And the rest is history!

Elberto's Taqueria began in 2013 in Elberta as a walk-in-and-order-at-the-counter sort of place. Serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week in the summer, Elberto's is the sister company to Crystal Lake Catering Company. Both are owned by long-time Benzie County resident Jim Barnes. Jim started Crystal Lake Catering Company back in 2002, though he had been a leader in the food-service industry

of Northern Michigan long before that -- having a long history with Crystal Lake and Benzie County, Ohio-native Jim Barnes decided in 1989 to buy Northern Delights, a bakery and deli at the top of the hill in Benzonia. He grew the business to a full-service restaurant that specialized in hippie vegetarian foods and finer ethnic fare, all from local and organic ingredients. In 1999, Jim converted the business into what is now the present-day The Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill, which he sold in 2002. At that time, Jim started a new venture, Crystal Lake Catering Company! In 2013, Jim started Elberto's Taqueria in Elberta.
