This weekend wore me OUT, but in the best way. 🙌🏾🔥
It all started Wednesday when I got a call from a potential client in New York who was flying into the area to discuss catering for her wedding next year. After talking through everything, we scheduled a tasting for Friday evening in Las Cruces, New Mexico for her, her fiancé, her mom, and her brother.
And when I say we put together a tasting… we PUT TOGETHER A TASTING! 😮💨🍽️
They sampled Smothered Chicken Breast, Grilled BBQ Chicken Thighs, Blackened Shrimp Alfredo, Braised Pork Chops, Four Cheese Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens, Cabbage Greens, Green Beans with Potatoes, Dirty Rice, Rice Pilaf, Potato Salad, Peach Cobbler, and Southern Banana Pudding.
But here’s the part that made the long hours worth it…
We officially secured the wedding catering for next year! 🙏🏾💙
And apparently the food passed the test because they didn’t want to leave the leftovers behind either! 😂 They went out and bought bags so they could package the remaining food, freeze it and take it all the way back to New York.
I’d say that tasting went pretty well. 😂🔥
Then there was no slowing down. Saturday was right back into the kitchen prepping for today’s catering on the West Side of El Paso; Baked Chicken Thighs, Four Cheese Mac & Cheese, Southern Green Beans, Collard Greens, Dinner Rolls, Banana Pudding, and Shrimp & Grits.
From El Paso ➡️ Las Cruces ➡️ back to El Paso, this weekend has been all about cooking, preparation, traveling, serving, and doing what I love.
I’m tired. 😂
The kitchen is tired.
My feet are DEFINITELY tired. 😂
But seeing clients enjoy our food, earning their trust, and watching All Occasions Southern Soul Food & Catering continue to grow makes every hour worth it.
