Jalisco Cafe Offers FREE Thanksgiving Day Dinner for All
For over 20 years, the Jalisco Cafe has been a beacon of community and generosity in South El Paso, opening its doors on Thanksgiving Day to serve a FREE traditional Thanksgiving meal to those in need. This year the tradition of kindness continues.
“Didn't receive your SNAP benefits because of the government shutdown? No problem. Struggling families, veterans, newcomers, and individuals from all walks of life are invited to enjoy the same traditional meal that many of us are fortunate to share,” said Hector Chavez, proprietor of Jalisco Cafe. “We’ve been blessed to serve El Paso since 1954, and this is our way of giving back to the community that has supported us. Our Thanksgiving is your Thanksgiving.”
If you know someone who would benefit from a hearty Thanksgiving meal — a family, a veteran, or anyone who might otherwise go without — please spread the word or bring them to the Jalisco Cafe, located at 1029 East Seventh Ave., on Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Everyone is welcome — no exceptions.
Community contributions are welcome to help make the event even more special. If you have extra turkeys, canned vegetables, bottled water, sodas, or desserts, please drop them off at the Jalisco Cafe. Monetary donations are gratefully accepted.
“Sharing is caring,” Chavez emphasized.

Let’s come together to celebrate gratitude and community. Muchas gracias, and let’s all have a blessed Día de Acción.
