We are so incredibly excited to share that Jenny K was voted Best Gift Shop in the East Bay by the East Bay Express!

And really — this belongs to all of you.

You shop small. You tell your friends about us. You show up for our events (even the slightly ridiculous ones 🤣). You support our local makers, our staff, and this little shop year after year.

Community Game Night
is back from summer break!

Hey everyone!

Now that we're all back home for school, let's gather once again for Game Night!

It is family and friends fun event. Bring your favorite games and favorite people to game with! If you came across a great new game over the summer, share it! Personally, I've discovered The Gang, a cooperative bank heist game based on Texas Hold'em poker mechanics, and a super funny slap card game called TACO, CAT, GOAT, CHEESE, PIZZA!

We also make it into kind of a potluck, so bring something to share and have fun with it.

We're just having fun here, so no charge. However, if you'd like to show your appreciation to JUKU for generously hosting this wonderful community event, donations are welcome.

Looking forward to seeing everyone over at JUKU!

Bring your squishies to trade with other squishy fans and join us for a FREE Ice Cream Social! Lappert’s Ice Cream generously donated Vanilla & Cookie Monster ice cream, and we’ll have lots of fun toppings to make your own sundae. 🍨

There won’t be a new NeeDoh drop this week, but we have lots of squishy fun in the shop — including our super-popular GooLala Sugar Squishies! Silly Goose, Rainbow Pop, Bananarama, Jelly Shelly, Turtley Awesome & more. GooLalas are also a little cheaper when you shop in-store. 💕

Thursday night is our Local Makers Night at Jenny K & Well Grounded!

Join us Thursday, August 6 from 5–8 PM for a festive summer evening celebrating local artists, makers, food, and community.

We’ll have seven local artists and makers throughout Jenny K, Well Grounded and outside in our outdoor dining area, including Aimee Alexander of Artisticle, Wilder June Glass, Moon & Leaf, Arthur Norcome, Alan Krakauer Photography, Lucy Ames, and more.

Come shop original art, colorful prints, notecards, stained glass, nature-inspired jewelry, wildlife photography, mixed-media artwork, and other one-of-a-kind gifts—all while meeting the talented people who made them.

Curbside Kitchen will be serving dinner, and we’ll have live music to enjoy throughout the evening.

Bring a friend, come hungry, browse the art, meet the makers, and make a night of it. These community evenings are some of our favorite events of the year, and we would love to see you there!

SURPRISE NEE DOH DROP + SQUISHY TRADE NIGHT!

Tonight, July 2, we’re bringing the squishy fun back to Jenny K and Well Grounded. Please no early line ups, we will not distribute tickets until 5pm.

We received some awesome new NeeDoh, including Jelly Squish, Nice-Cicle, Nice Bergs, Fuzz Balls, and more!

We’ll also have tables set up for squishy trades, so bring your favorite squishies and see what you can swap.

And because we clearly can’t help ourselves, we made a fun NeeDoh step-and-pose wall for pics.

Jenny K will have the NeeDoh drop and open for shopping until 8, Well Grounded will also be open late, and there will be lots to do for kids, collectors, and squishy fans.

Come hang out, trade, snack, sip, and squish with us tonight!

Community has always been one of our core values.

Over the years, we’ve watched people share pregnancy announcements, celebrate birthdays, hold meetings, study for finals, reconnect with friends, and grieve losses together. We’ve even participated in a gender reveal with a blueberry cream cheese danish for a girl.

These little moments matter.

That’s also why we’ve started staying open late on Thursdays. We want to create space for people to get out of the house one night a week. To step away from the Netflix queue. To invite a friend out for tea and conversation. To let the kids snack on pizza bread while you linger a little longer than usual.

This morning on my walk, I saw a graduating senior in a cap and gown heading back to Fairmont Elementary for one of the seniors’ walk-throughs. My own kids went there too, and it stopped me in my tracks for a second. I knew what that moment meant.

This Thursday night, El Cerrito High seniors will walk across the stage, and we’ll be celebrating the beginning of summer here at Jenny K and Well Grounded.

We’ll be open late with the fire pit going, supplies for s’mores, strawberry shortcake, and all the excitement that comes with the last day of school finally arriving.

We hope you’ll join us.
