Dear Armadillo Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the permanent closure of Armadillo Pizza. There were many factors that led to this decision and while we attempted to hand off the business to others now is not a great time for many people to take on the challenge of owning a pizza shop.

Many of you have been a part of this community since my dad took over in the early 90’s, and some of you are relatively new to our family and thought your quest for the best pizza was finally over. We will miss providing you the best pizza in the east bay. Thank you for letting us help you at the end of a long day, fill your party guest’s bellies, and be at the center of your family time.

The next phase of closure will be selling the equipment. If you want to own a bit of Armadillo history we are selling off the fridges, ovens, pizza trays and all the rest. Please reach out to [email protected]

My name is Ashley, I am the daughter of Nash who owned and operated Armadillo Pizza. My father passed away suddenly of a heart attach a few weeks ago. My husband and I are trying to pick up where he left off until we can figure out the logistics of everything. Ayman, the driver you all know, is working with us while we figure things out.

If you or you know of customers/friends who were particularly close with my dad please email me at [email protected] . There has not been an easy way to contact people to inform them of his memorial happening this weekend.

As for the pizza, we are sticking with his recipes because they are so tasty. I know what it feels like to miss that love and good tasting food. I'm hoping we can keep providing it for you all.

Please feel free to share stories through that email or on our Armadillo page. Honestly, I'd really love to hear stories. My dad was a shy guy to most people but when he warmed up that's where the stories started. I'd love to hear as many as possible.
