*** 1:50 P.M. TUESDAY UPDATE: Paving has wrapped up, two-way traffic has resumed and temporary street striping is in place along the North Main Street work zone. ***
NORTH MAIN PAVING SET FOR TUESDAY: Resurfacing of the North Main Street construction zone will take place during the daytime hours on Tuesday, September 29 (TOMORROW).
🚧 To wrap up this work ahead of Wednesday night's planned EHS Homecoming Parade, North Main will be reduced to one lane Tuesday (as it was on Monday), with flaggers alternating and directing traffic. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes, if possible.
🚧 The work zone runs from the Vandalia/Main Street intersection to slightly north of Hillsboro Avenue.
🚧 The planned work route is to pave beginning at the south end (Vandalia/Main intersection) of the work zone and head north from there.
🚧 Hillsboro Avenue will not be accessible from North Main during the majority of Tuesday's paving. The entrance to the parking lot between Whisker Bones and Big Daddy’s also will not be accessible from North Main during most of this work; this is necessary for the safety of the workers and traffic control purposes while paving is underway.
🚧 Temporary striping will be placed very quickly after the paving is done. (Permanent striping will be possible after the traffic control detector loops and crosswalks are installed in the near future.)
🚧 Based on the quantity and scope of work in this phase, (and barring unforeseen circumstances) we anticipate this operation to be completed by the end of the workday.
