No longer will the citienzs of Rockingham County need to drive an hour for premium coffee or food meant to impress, not just fill you up, served in a space that invites you to stay longer, not rush you out to turn the table. No longer will you have to drive an hour for a cocktail that's creative and presented to you like presentation really matters. Oh, and did we forget to mention you can do all this and you don't even have to sacrifice the shoppping? Just head downstairs and persue the cozy bookshop right under our feet, Eden's Ember.

There is but one truly new item on this menu and that is our redneck bruschetta replacing the more traditional bruschetta.

Homemade pimento cheese, sautéed peppers, bacon, all drizzled with hot honey and pepper jelly and served with toasted bagel crostini.

It’s a wonderful starter to a dinner or a snack to enjoy with one our signature cocktails. Plus the name just makes it a fun thing to order.

Want breakfast at 2pm? You got it. Want a burger at 7am (probably a little less appealing) no problem. Reminder that from now on we are running this menu all day Thursday - Sunday. No more breaks in kitchen service to prep for dinner. No more kitchen closing earlier than the coffee bar on Thursdays. If we are open Thursday - Sunday, you can stop in any time we’re open and get anything from this menu.

It’s time to introduce our new head chef. 👩🏻‍🍳

Leta’s been with us for two years and is hardly recognizable from that first day of training and is now a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen. She’s held the position of sous chef for the last year learning from Jay and is more than capable of continuing the extreme emphasis on quality.

So please join us in congratulating Leta and continue reading below for an interview between her and the owner as a way for our customers to get to know her! 🥳🥳

“So where do you see yourself in five years?”

“Will you be mad if I say somewhere that isn’t here?”

“Wait, really?”

“What?”

“Well I just thought the answer was so obviously here”

“Oh, well, yeah.. I mean of course it’s here. The answer is here.”

“You don’t mean that.”

“I do I do I swear. Stop looking so sad. The answer is most definitely 1000% here.”

“Whatever”

“What you can’t even look at me now?”

“I THOGHT WE WERE A TEAM LETA! AN UNSTOPPABLE TEAM!”

“We are! Look I was just messing around when I said that. I totally wanna still be here in 5 years. Heck I still wanna be here in 50 years.”

Jay didn’t have any parting words, he just wanted to hit y’all with the blue steel on his way out.

Saturday was the end of an era at Kings Mill as Jay, our head chef, worked his last shift. Jay has been such an integral part of our business over the last year, totally revamping our menu and working his butt off to provide y’all with fresh bagels, homemade pasta, pizzas, and much more. He’s a very talented chef and we wish him tons of success wherever he goes next.

No need to fear for the kings mill fanatics out there though. Leta, of French toast fame, is taking over. Shes been with us for two years and knows the kitchen like the back of her hand. So your taste buds are in good hands. But before we look forward, we just wanted to look back and give Jay a proper thanks and proper goodbye 🫡

Cinnamon STICKED French toast. It’s sticked ok? NOT STACKED. We attempted to stack them high enough to be legally considered stacked and it was impossible to do without endangering our customers and staff. We realize in the moment of hearing our barista introduce the special you may mishear sticked as stacked so we want to make it as clear as possible that this French toast has been properly sticked (cinnamon sticked that is) and not cinnamon stacked.

We heard y’all like local drama and size comparisons so we decided to start a little drama with another local business. It’s been too long. But for real, much love y’all keep doing y’all’s thing. Always enjoy the cajun pintos and the option to get free biscuits when scores 100 🫡 always thought that was a noble marketing scheme.
