I understand many of you are disappointed with the path we are taking.
However, circumstances change, and often change suddenly. Initially, we had hoped a rebuild was financially feasible, however the damage to the structure was much more severe than we first expected.
The realization of requiring a full tear down of the south building changed the economics of the project. Suddenly we only had a third of the square footage we thought we would have.
Tough decisions had to be made. In order to have any operation on that site, it would have to be a very small footprint, this is how the carryout concept was derived.
Many of you feel betrayed, however none of you lost anything in this fire. You are merely upset that you might have to travel a little further for our food. I however lost a lot, my mother lost a lot, my family lost a lot in this fire.
To hear you degrade my family’s name and criticize decisions I’ve made in order to financially stabilize my family after months of no income is disgusting. How many of your personal decisions would pass this level of scrutiny?
Many of you implied that the fire was deliberate or that some other level of misconduct regarding fund raising has occured.
All funds donated have been distributed to employees. No funds were ever raised for the rebuilding or restoration of the business. All fundraisers were created by customers on behalf of the employees, all we did is promote them.
So to all who have supported my family through this entire ordeal, I truly thank you and look forward to serving you at either location.
