Quick Jefes Update!

First off, thank you to everyone who has supported the food truck over the last month! The love you guys have shown us has been awesome and we really appreciate everyone who has stopped by.

This upcoming week will be our LAST WEEK with the food truck as we shift our focus toward getting the restaurant open!

Our initial staff has been selected and onboarding will begin within the next week. Things are moving along and we’re hoping to be open by October 1st! 🤞🏽

There are still a few things that are out of my control, so I don’t want to give you guys an opening date until I know for sure. Just know that we’re working hard every single day to get these doors open.

As soon as we have a definite opening day, you guys will be the first to know!

We’re getting close to opening the doors at Jefes Masa Cantina and it’s time to start building our crew!

We’re looking for bartenders, servers, barbacks/bussers, cooks, and dishwashers/prep to join the Jefes family.
Experience is preferred, but more importantly we’re looking for good people who show up, work as a team, take pride in hospitality, and keep things clean. Good attitude and good work ethic go a long way with us.

It’s been a week since our last day at 390 Court St.
And if I’m being real… it’s been weird.

My routine for the last 7 years is gone. Just like that. Faces and families I’ve seen every week for years… people I’ve watched grow, kids I’ve watched get older, people who have watched me grow… abruptly removed from my everyday life.

I don’t think I realized how much of my identity was tied to that building until I stopped walking through those doors every day.

It really was a hell of a run.
I’ve been trying to relax. Trying to be present. Trying to enjoy my family and the life I’ve worked so hard to build.
But I struggle with that.

I’m a worker. My mind doesn’t shut off. Even when my body is sitting still, my brain is somewhere else. Thinking. Planning. Worrying. Chipping away at whatever the next goal is.

I don’t come from a family of restaurateurs. I don’t come from entrepreneurs. Nobody handed me a blueprint. Nobody taught me how to do this.

I just had a vision and an unshakable work ethic.
And sometimes I genuinely wonder what the cost of that is.
The sleepless nights. The time. The stress. The moments I’m physically present but mentally somewhere else chasing something that doesn’t even exist yet.

Is that sacrifice?Or is it a selfish dream?

I don’t know.
That’s for my God to determine.

What I do know is I still feel like there’s more I’m supposed to do.

Wareham… we’re coming.

There’s been a lot of work done and there’s still a lot of work left to do. And the hardest part for someone like me is accepting how much of it is out of my control.
Contractors. Permits. Hearings. Inspections. Timelines.

I’ll give everyone an update on potential opening timeframes in the coming weeks.

For now, I’ll continue to keep my head down and put in the work 🙏🏽❤️
