Dear customers, neighbors and friends,

Waking up this morning and reviewing the status of Montgomery County and the COVID-19 precautions, we have made the very difficult decision to TEMPORARILY close our doors.

When we decided to open Java & Friends, it was in part our way of helping further enhance our community. We have lots of wonderful ideas brewing, but many will be put on hold temporarily. Right now, our greatest service to you is to do our part in not spreading things!

Thinking through a lens of social responsibility, we feel the need to sacrifice personal gain for the betterment of the community, and do our part in not spreading the virus. We thought long and hard and struggled with this decision for days, but at the end of it all, we feel that this is the right decision for the community at large.

Please know that we went into this endeavor with the intent of being loyal, dependable and predictable with our service as well as our availability. It was, and is, our intention to be open during ALL of the posted hours; we never anticipated a major viral spread and health crisis to shut us down a week after opening. This certainly played into our decision as to whether to remain open, and at the end of the day, YOUR health matters more than our personal gain.

We will miss seeing and serving you for the time being, and truly hope that you all will understand, appreciate and respect our decision. As such, we will eagerly and optimistically look for your support when we reopen.

Please do your part, and let's get this under control so we can enjoy lots of wonderful times together in the future.

Wow!! We can't thank you all enough; our grand opening was even bigger than we could have imagined. From the arrival of Mayor Gerhart just before 8:00am until early evening, we had the pleasure and privilege to serve so many throughout the day.

For those who came early and had to wait, thank you for your patience. We hope everything was worth the wait. For those who came out at all, we sincerely thank you and look forward to you giving us a try. We strive for excellence in quality and service, and will accept nothing less from ourselves.

A quick nod to our friends at Papa's Cupcakes... You guys rocked!! Not only with your yummy treats and samples, but with your help throughout the day. Thank you, our friends.

And, I couldn't possibly end this post without profusely thanking our family. You came out to support us and see what it was all about... And before you could order your first drink, you were behind the scenes helping create the magic. Thank you all!

OK.... Enough talk.... Time to strap on the aprons and make Day Two just as successful. See you all soon!!
