This great accomplishment was achieved by the implementation of sixty environmental steps targeting, food, water, waste, energy, chemicals, disposables, and building materials. The UNH Dairy Bar is proud to be a leading restaurant in reducing volume by heavily recycling. They exceeded the rigorous certification scale by 77.02%, going above and beyond the requirements necessary for the 3-star certification. The Green Restaurant Association is a national nonprofit organization helping restaurants become more environmentally sustainable. The Green Restaurant Association’s standards reflect twenty-five years of research based on restaurants and the environment. The GRA has made it easy for thousands of restaurants to become more environmentally sustainable in a profitable manner. These standards provide a transparent way to appropriately measure each restaurant’s environmental accomplishment, taking a step closer to increased environmental sustainability. The UNH Dairy Bar has always taken a green minded vision but now their efforts are officially recognized by the Green Restaurant Association achieving a 3-star rating.
