Our June Nonprofit of the Month is Me Fine Foundation! β€
Since 2004, Me Fine has been providing financial and emotional support to families with children experiencing a medical crisis at North Carolina partner hospitals β because when your child is fighting for their life, the last thing a family should have to face alone is the stress and financial burden that comes with it.
Their name honors a brave little boy named Folden Lee IV, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at just two years old. No matter how hard his treatment days were, whenever someone asked how he was doing, his answer was always "Me fine!" Folden passed in September of 2004, and his friends and family founded Me Fine that same year so other families facing life-threatening childhood illnesses would have a community of support behind them.
Today, Me Fine serves families at Duke, UNC Children's, and WakeMed hospitals, offering financial assistance and emotional support. At the heart of everything they do is a simple but powerful belief: Families Come First.
No one can change what these children are forced to endure medically β but through combined effort, the burdens on their caregivers can be eased, making their countless days in the hospital a little easier to endure.
This June, $1 from every monthly special sold will be donated to Me Fine. π
