Most people don't understand my sense of urgency.
They think it's about money. They think it's about success.
It's not.
My father passed away this week, and it's exactly where that urgency comes from.
If there's one thing life has taught me, it's that we never know how much time we have left. It's never one more day. It's always one day less.
For more than a decade, I've poured everything I had into building Piggin' Out BBQ. Long days. Sleepless nights. Sacrifices. Risks. Failures. Victories. Through it all, there was always a part of me that wanted my dad to see what this company would become.
Back in 2015, when two brothers decided to chase a dream, he was scared as hell for us. But he showed up anyway. He supported us, worked beside us, wore the shirts, met the customers, and watched this little idea grow into something real.
In just five more weeks, we'll be launching the biggest addition to this company we've ever made.
And he's not here to see it.
That's the part that hurts.
There was so much more I wanted to show him.
Dad, I hope you knew how much of this journey was for you. I hope you knew how proud we were to have you standing beside us. And I hope somehow you can still see what's coming next.
Our hearts hurt.
We love you, Dad.
