Sadly, Friends, today we are announcing that Plum will be closing on September 28th. It has been our great pleasure to serve this community and each of you for the past 5 years.
With your help we survived the pandemic; serving only outside under propane heaters and quilts. I remember so many of you huddled together; eatIing from boxes, braving the cold, popping masks off to sip a drink. But you came and that meant we could stay. We went on to gain your favor and trust, gathering your friends and family for birthdays, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners and new babies!
In the past two years Plum and the restaurant industry as a whole, have been deeply impacted by big changes in our town and in our culture. But eating together will always be critical to Durham. It has been an economic engine of hope and creativity here and we all want that for our future.
I hope to see all of you at Plum over the next two weeks. Our plan is to serve our style of Southern hospitality and great food until the end. Visit us at plumdurham.com to reserve.
