Ever since we could remember, our Dad has been an entrepreneur. He has always been a dreamer, creator and chef. He’s delighted many with his delicious southern-inspired cooking, and has fed many souls over the course of his lifetime and his 40-years in Durango. He truly loves this town and the people in it.
However, at 81, our Dad is tired and is dealing with some health concerns, and we need to move towards his retirement. We hate to say it, but this summer was a challenge for the Hwy. 3 Roadhouse with the walk-in cooler breaking down, a leaking roof in the kitchen, the cost of goods increasing, the list goes on. The walk-in and the roof got fixed, but one bad summer can set a small business behind, and that is what it did.
We are closing temporarily, to catch our breath, and we are looking for a new chef/buyer who appreciates the restaurant our Dad literally built, (it was a patch of dirt when he relocated the old Texaco Shed to the site).
We also want to share our appreciation to his staff for their long-term tenure and work over the years! Our dad couldn’t have done it without them! 🙏❤️
We will plan a retirement party and invite everyone who has supported him over the years, so stay tuned.
Thank you all for your patience, continued support and understanding! We are grateful for all the good times, and hopefully there will be many more to come at the Hwy. 3.
