Is this the best Smashburger in Alpharetta? đź‘€
We stopped by NFA Burger at Avalon to try the viral Giving Kitchen Burger, and this thing is loaded.
Crispy smashed beef. American cheese. Grilled onions. Smashed tots. Mustard. Pickles. Sassy Sauce. All on a soft Martin’s Potato Roll.
What makes it work is the balance.
You’ve got a lot of richness from the beef, cheese, fried potato and sauce, but the pickles and mustard bring enough acidity to cut through all that fat. The onions add a little sweetness, and the crispy edges from the beef and tots keep every bite from feeling too soft or heavy.
Rich. Salty. Tangy. Crispy. Soft.
Everything has a job.
NFA started with founder Billy Kramer documenting burgers online, then doing pop-ups around Atlanta before opening the tiny Chevron location in Dunwoody that became a cult favorite. Now they’ve expanded to Avalon without losing what made people obsessed with the burgers in the first place.
And the Giving Kitchen Burger has an even better story behind it.
$4 from every Giving Kitchen Burger sold goes to Giving Kitchen, which helps food-service workers facing unexpected crises with emergency financial assistance and other support.
NFA also donates 25 cents from every burger sold across the business to Giving Kitchen, plus additional proceeds from other items like their bottled water.
So yes, it’s a damn good smashburger.
But it’s also helping take care of the people who keep Atlanta’s restaurant industry running.
