Chelsea's is closing. This is a decision that we did not arrive at easily, but we've decided to let Chelsea's go at the end of our lease's term, and anticipate our last day to be Sunday, May 26th, unless we run out of ingredients or ice cream earlier.

A lot has happened since opening, both for the business and in our lives. Unfortunately, the time has come where we need to start making sacrifices--either at the expense of our family or the business.

Chelsea's started as a family endeavor between Renita and Isaac, and family is very important for us. In order for Chelsea's to continue, that would require another 3 to 5 year commitment, something we cannot guarantee to have available without taking away from our families.

As for selling the business, something that was important to us is keeping our product affordable for our customers. Just because someone has a dairy allergy, is vegan, or prefers our product over conventional ice cream does not mean they should be charged a hefty premium. We made a special effort to refrain from using stabilizers, emulsifiers, artificial flavors, as well as keeping peanuts out of our shop for those with severe peanut allergies. If we were to sell, we could not be sure the new owners would maintain those commitments.

We want to thank each and every one of you for your support--from the earliest patrons to our most recent. It has been a wonderful and hectic ride, but you all made it worth it!

Curious about kombucha? Want to start but don't know where? Our introductory class is here for you!

At Chelsea's, we use active cultures to make our cheezes, but they can do so much more!

🎓 In this class, learn the basics of kombucha making and flavoring. Take home a mother to kickstart your own batch and craft your flavored infusion!

We will be closing early Wednesday 11/22 (at 8 pm) and be Closed Thanksgiving Day 11/23 so that everyone can spend that time with their friends and families.
