Happy Pride! We'll be hosting one of the first Pride events right here: Intergenerational Speed Friending, with the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging! People of all ages are welcome to come and meet some new people.

In the first half, we'll do a rotational mixer, so people can have conversations with new people one-on-one! In the second half, we'll transition into listening to and reflecting on stories of lived experiences.

Everyone is welcome! It's held this coming Tuesday, 12:30-3pm.

Duluth is having a city-wide book club this fall! The UMD Urban Excellence Institute is inviting everyone to read "Walkable City" by Jeff Speck.

The book club will meet all across Duluth this fall, including one session right here at Dovetail Cafe and Duluth Folk School! (That'll be the evening of November 19th.)

Did you know the Rosetta Trifold finally allowed the French to translate hieroglyphs?

Sarah and Zoe stopped by to make their trifolds on trifolds for the educational poster display this Thursday. If educational posters call to you, please make one and bring them in!

Here are some topics to help inspire you: the voyage of Shackleton, the wide array of romance novels about baseball, differences in brand preferences between children and adults, and the age of amphibians.

There are no real guidelines about the subject of your educational display, so long as the visual medium of the poster board is used to present information about the topic at hand.

(You can use a trifold poster board or a smaller 22x28 poster board.)

IMPORTANT: Your poster should try to incorporate as many of the 5Ws as possible: Wit, Whimsy, Worldliness, Wonder, and Wisdom.

Posters will be displayed on Thursday, August 27th, from 4:30-7:30pm! Bring your poster and be ready to peruse knowledge, well-displayed

Break out your trifolds, it's time to make an educational poster for an event emceed by puppets! (Pick up the phone, it's destiny knocking at your door.)

This is put on by Good Puppet Bad Puppet, and inspired by the educational 4-H posters at the state fair. Except we'll hold it right here!
