Our hearts are heavy today.

Last night, a member of our team lost her father. A wife lost her husband. We lost a dear friend, and our community lost a truly good man.

If you knew Scott, you know he wouldn't entertain all this sadness. He'd probably head off to go hunting. So we are going to try to cut it short on the sad parts just for you Scott.

There are no words that can fully explain or ease a loss like this. All we can do is keep his family, friends, and everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace, Scott. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

It's hard to put into words the heartbreak after such a senseless act of violence. Keeping everyone affected in our thoughts and prayers—the victims and their loved ones, the officers involved and their families, the surrounding agencies who responded, and the entire Doylestown and Rittman communities. Some moments are simply too special not to share. ❤️

Today we had the privilege of welcoming back a former teacher who stopped by with a gift certificate she had tucked away for nearly **20 years**! It was such a joy to catch up, hear a few memories, and finally put that long-lost gift certificate to good use.

Thank you for making our day and reminding us that the sweetest part of what we do isn't just the ice cream—it's the people and the connections that last through the years.

As if our staff wasn't wonderful enough, a few of them took it upon themselves to create a Doc's Sweet Shop TikTok page! Since some of us "older folks" aren't quite as tech-savvy, they stepped up and ran with the idea—and they've done an amazing job.

They've been posting some genuinely funny videos that really capture the fun and personality of our shop. We couldn't be more proud of this incredible crew and all the enthusiasm, creativity, and heart they bring every day.

Today, we celebrate **America's 250th birthday**! Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and memorable Independence Day filled with family, friends, and plenty of sweet treats.

We're OPEN today from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM so stop by and cool off with your favorite ice cream before or after your holiday celebrations or grab a quart of ice cream to take to those parties with you!

Before the celebrations begin, we wanted to say thank you for your support. We do our very best to be here for you every day, rain or shine, from **12 PM to 9 PM**.

When it comes to holidays, we're only able to open if we have staff willing to spend part of their holiday serving our community. This **Fourth of July**, we're incredibly grateful to have a few amazing team members who volunteered to work so we could keep our doors open for you.

If you're out and about between cookouts and fireworks, stop in for a treat—and if you see our girls working, we'd really appreciate it if you'd thank them for giving up part of their holiday to make sure everyone could enjoy a visit.
