Last night we hosted a latte art throwdown with our friends BRIDGE CITY COFFEE
And somewhere between the shaky hands, the loud music, the ridiculous amount of cheering, and a whole lot of coffee, we were reminded why we love this so much.
Of course we care about the coffee. We care about the craft. We care about getting better.
But somewhere along the way, coffee became the excuse for something much bigger.
It gave us a way to find each other.
To build friendships that otherwise wouldn’t exist otherwise. To believe in each other. To celebrate each other’s wins and help carry each other through the losses. To make space for people to show up, take a chance, fail, try again, and know there will be people standing beside them either way.
Last night was technically a competition.
It just didn’t feel much like us versus them.
It felt like a room full of people who really care about what they do. But care even more about each other.
The music was loud.
But somehow, the laughter was louder.
We’d choose nights like this, and people like these, every single time
