It’s hot again ☀️
Come cool off this week and weekend with some cold brew.

Also got a sparkling black peach apricot iced tea on draft that’s tasting really nice.

In case you missed it, there’s a new draft tower on bar that supplies the cold brew and spicy water that we concoct in house. We’ll also have a rotation of tea and other sparkling drinks on rotation.

Stay cool. Drink coffee 😎

Shout out to milarkie for installing the tap system, Mach One Property Maintenance for helping install the water filtration, and a.dis.content for the tea recipe 💁🏻‍♂️

The Colombia Black Honey Blackberry Co-Ferment might be one of the tastiest single origin espressos I’ve ever had.

The blackberry flavor comes through so clearly, you’d almost think there’s literal blackberries added to it. It gets its flavor from the co-fermentation process where fresh blackberries are combined with the coffee seeds in a sealed tank for a few days to ferment. Pretty wild stuff.

Come give it a try as espresso or a pour over. It’ll be available at the coffee bar for the next week or two.

Bye ✌️

Highlighting the Andrés Martínez Black Honey Blackberry Co-Ferment cus you’ve only got a few weeks left on this one 🇨🇴🫐

It’s this months Bean Juice Club. Produced and fermented in Cajibío, Colombia by Señor Martínez who is a trained biochemical engineer and coffee provider. He’s taken fresh Castilla blackberries grown on his farm and fermented them into a mosto culture for 4 days. That culture is then mixed with the coffee after a Black Honey process, placed into a sealed tank and anaerobically fermented for 4 days.

As espresso it tastes like blackberry jam stirred into a classic sweet caramel & brown sugar pudding. As black coffee it tastes like Blackberry-Grape fruit punch.

It’s available at the Roastery and online through the end of August, plus on the pour-over bar and as single origin espresso. When it’s out, it’s out.

Wrote up the full nerdy version on the blog, linkin bio.

Some highlights from the 4th annual Roaster’s Retreat last weekend ☕️❤️

Huge thank you to washedupcoffee, emily potter and Amélie Boulanger for putting on such an amazing event 🐥

It was so wonderful to be able to connect with friends, roasteries, cafes, colleges, and coffee enthusiasts. I’m so happy and honored to have been able to participate this year. What a fantastic experience.

Thanks to Sarina Wonder for helping me serve my Brazil as flash brew and cold brew at the event. Post coming later this week talking more about the flash brew. Blog post live on the website about it now.

Hope you’re having a great week! ✌️

Beyond excited to have teamed up with Mudgie's Deli and Wine Shop to collaborate on Greg’s Blend.

This one meant a lot. I only knew Greg for a short period of time. But his positive, optimistic outlook was infectious. And he’s been a big inspiration for many things I do at Craig’s Coffee.

I’m honored to have been able to work with Liza and the team at Mudgie’s on this collaboration.
I think Greg would’ve liked it, and I think you will too.

Give it a try this week during Mudgie’s Lobster Week. Or whenever. It’ll be available to drink and purchase in retail bags for the foreseeable figure.

Reg hours this week.
Also gonna be at the Roaster Retreat this Saturday.
Hope to see ya ✌️

Big shout out to Detroit Chinatown Vision Committee for putting this all together. And my amazing neighbors The Peterboro, Meantime, Iconic Tattoo Detroit and Detroit Shipping Company for making this a new, wonderful tradition.

Very smokey today 💨
But we’re here with the bean juice.

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has blanketed much of the state. But it’s supposed to clear up the next couple days. Send good juju to our Canadian neighbors who have it much worse than us.

Regular hours this week and weekend.
Only a few bags of the Colombia IPA Caturra left.

Stay safe. Stay hydrated.

Hope y’all are staying cool, staying hydrated, and drinking bean juice 🥤

Have a great and safe weekend.
Fun fact the Declaration of Independence wasn’t actually signed until August 2nd, 1776. It was then stolen by Nicolas Cage in 2004. Where it’s at now is anybody’s guess 🤷🏻‍♂️
