☕ Cold Brew 101 — and why we're going Argon

Cold brew isn't just iced coffee. It's coarse grounds steeped in cold water for 12–24 hours instead of hot-extracted in minutes. That slow process pulls flavor without the bitterness and acidity of heat, giving you a smoother, naturally sweeter cup with a serious caffeine kick.

Most shops stop there — or push nitrogen into the mix for that creamy, cascading "nitro" pour. Nitrogen's great for texture. But we're using argon, and here's why: argon is denser and more inert than nitrogen, so it displaces oxygen more completely. Oxygen is what stales coffee — dulling the flavor and aroma compounds that make a fresh cup taste fresh. Less oxygen contact means our cold brew holds its just-brewed taste longer, cup to cup.
