Last month, we brought home a James Beard Award—the first ever awarded to a New Hampshire chef or establishment in the foundation’s history. But this recognition isn’t just for us.

It’s for the independently owned and operated restaurants that pour everything they have into their teams and communities. It’s for the farmers, fishermen, and purveyors whose work makes ours possible. It’s for the chefs who have spent their lives trying to prove—to themselves and everyone around them—that opening a restaurant was the right choice. It’s for the up-and-coming talent who wonder if they’ll ever have the opportunity to thrive in this cutthroat industry. It’s for all of us here in New Hampshire.

We are incredibly honored to be the first, but we’re confident we won’t be the last.
