๐บ๐ธ Honoring Our Heroes at Dover Hollywood Diner ๐บ๐ธ
A solemn reminder stands in our dinerโa tribute to the brave men and women who served our nation and never returned home. This table remains untouched, a symbol of our enduring respect and gratitude.
โ
This table is reserved to honor our missing comrades-in-arms.
The table is set for one, symbolizing the frailty of one isolated prisoner. The tablecloth is white, representing the purity of their intentions in serving our country.
The red roses in the vase signifies the blood they may have shed and the love of their families waiting for answers.
The slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate, captured or missing in foreign lands.
Salt is sprinkled on the plate to symbolize the countless tears of waiting families.
The glass is invertedโthey cannot toast with us today.
The chair is emptyโthey are not here.
Though they are absent, they are not forgotten.
We remember them.
โ
Forged from authentic steel recovered from the North Tower of the World Trade Center, lays a cross. A powerful symbol of faith, resilience, and remembranceโhonoring the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the unbreakable spirit of America on September 11, 2001.
