We’ve had so many new faces join us here lately, so we thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves! We are Ruthie & Crimson.
Southern Love Catering & Events is a locally owned catering and event business in Dothan, Alabama, and around here we like to say…
We don’t just serve food. We create experiences.
Whether you’re joining us around one of our tables or inviting us to be part of your special occasion, our goal is always the same: delicious food, thoughtful details and genuine Southern hospitality.
So what happens at SLC?
🫖 HIGH TEAS
Our themed High Teas have quickly become one of our favorite traditions! Each one brings a new theme, menu and completely transformed room. Seating is intentionally limited so every tea feels special.
👩🍳 HANDS-ON COOKING CLASSES
Come cook with us! Our Italian cooking classes include pasta, ravioli and pizza—and yes, you actually make it yourself! Classes include hands-on instruction, a full Italian meal and plenty of laughs along the way.
🍽️ 5-COURSE DINNERS
Several times throughout the year, we transform SLC for an intimate five-course dining experience. These evenings are limited to just 12 guests and feature multiple choices throughout the menu.
🎉 PRIVATE EVENTS
Bridal showers, birthdays, church groups, private High Teas, private cooking classes and other special gatherings—we love helping you celebrate!
🥘 CATERING
From office lunches and small gatherings to weddings, banquets and events for 100+ guests, catering is still a huge part of what we do!
🍂 HOLIDAY MENUS & STOCK UP WEEKS
We love making life a little easier—and a lot more delicious!
Each holiday season, we offer special Thanksgiving and Christmas menus filled with SLC favorites to help take some of the cooking off your plate.
And when our catering and event schedule allows, watch for our occasional STOCK UP WEEKS! These are preorder opportunities to fill your refrigerator or freezer with Southern Love entrées, sides, dips and desserts to enjoy at home.
Stock Up Weeks aren’t offered on a regular schedule, so when we announce one… stock up!

Southern Love was built on more than food. We believe in loving our community well. Throughout the year, we look for opportunities to recognize teachers, first responders, nonprofits, nursing homes and others who serve our community through our SLC Acts of Kindness.
