Bakery Cafe is owned and operated by Dillsburg native Heidi Tucker. Located at 148, South Baltimore Street in Dillsburg PA, Tucker&Co. Bakery Cafe serves delicious and nutritious food Monday - Friday 7am-2pm and Saturday - Sunday 8am-2pm. We specialize in gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined-sugar-free baking. Stop in for a warm drink, some baked goodness, a local food grocery run, or a meal to fuel your daily adventures! You can also find us at the Dillsburg Farmers Market, every Saturday (May - Dec.) 8am-12pm and every other Wednesday from 3pm-7pm at Farmers on the Square in Carlisle (May - December) with our food truck!

Yesterday was a cooler, rainy, hot matcha kinda of day.
Today the sun is peaking out with a cool breeze in the air.
There’s no bad days at be at the bakery cafe. We’ll welcome you every day and make whatever drink suits you best for the moment.
What a privilege. What a gift.

Thinking today of all those who don’t have it as good as we do. Who are not having a good day.
And I am recommitting to one of my 2026 goals. “Do the good you can do.” No more, no less. Trying to live life with a realistic but generous and hopeful heart. ❤️

A Friday Field Report from Fileys' Pride, Organically Grown Produce!

I did some produce picking today at my parents organically grown produce farm.

You can find them and our food truck and many other great local food growers and makers tomorrow at Dillsburg Farmers Market from 8am to 12pm!

ALSO — if anyone is interested in getting into farming, I know of multiple farms (animals and produce people) that could use some part time help. Please reach out!

Basically our delicious Summer Panini made with pulled beef, Caputo Brothers Creamery provolone cheese, and roasted locally grown peppers, onions, and tomatoes is on borrowed time! Get to the cafe soon to enjoy this staff favorite panini.

When we say we use fresh & local ingredients we mean it. My parents operate a large produce farm, using organic farming practices right here in Dillsburg! And we source from many other local/regional farms and food producers as well.

I grew up helping with the garden quite a bit but since moving out post college, and having kids and a business of my own, I haven’t helped very much at the farm.

But today they were down helpers and I needed more tomatoes and peppers for the cafe so I was happy to go and help harvest for tomorrow’s Dillsburg Farmers' Market!

Today’s rambles in the video.
Today is my 39th birthday and as I reflect about this past year, the thing that I feel most is grateful.

Though in some ways it has been one of my most challenging and sad years to date, it has also been one of my most blessed and exciting years.

Today, which is mostly just a very ordinary day, it’s easy to count the many reasons I have to be incredibly grateful. To have family and friends who love me. To have a partner in life that I love and adore and cares for me. To have a home and good food to eat. To have work I enjoy doing so much and have so much freedom and creativity in. To be surrounded by natural beauty.

It’s crazy to think I am 39!! But this is a very nice life I have been building over these 39 years, and I’m excited to see what the next 39 years bring.

Thank you for being here. Thank you to each one of you who have contributed to my life in big and little ways. It’s all of us, who make this life a good one, one worth sharing with each other, by sharing in both each other’s joys and sorrows and everyday happenings.

Since my birthday lands at the end of summer and beginning of the last quarter of the year, I often use my birthday to reflect on the goals I set for the calendar year. If you are like me and have let some of your intentions for 2026 slide away, now is a great time to recommit! I know I have so much more I am hoping to accomplish this fall. We’ve got lots of fun things coming for the bakery cafe and can’t wait to share them all with you!!

Ryan Rickrode is the author The Mountains May Depart and Accidents Will Happen: Essays & Photos. With over a decade of experience teaching creative writing at the college level, he’s passionate about helping others bring new stories into the world. He holds a B.A. in creative writing and religious studies from Susquehanna University and an M.F.A. in fiction and creative nonfiction from the University of Montana. As a senior lecturer in English at Messiah University, he teaches courses on creative writing, composition, literature, and publishing. He serves as fiction editor at Solum Literary Press, and he writes about how to create “believable belief” in literary fiction on Substack. His short work has appeared in Dappled Things, The Windhover, and The Cresset, among other places. You can read his work at ryan-rickrode.com.

Today we got a restock of Honey Bear! For those unfamiliar, this is an amazing, completely gluten free and vegan ice cream company. Local too! Produced in Harrisburg, Pa.

We’ve got a variety of flavors of pints now. And we also got a restock of our collab Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches! These sandwiches are made with our gluten free, vegan, Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies and Honey Bear’s refined sugar free vanilla ice cream! They are so delicious.

Come grab some this weekend to savor those summer time feelings!

Good morning!
This video is has just a few updates.

Our new under counter freezer was delivered yesterday! Thank you thank you to all of you who last minute lended a hand to help us get that inside the cafe.

We are co-hosting a fun book swap event on Saturday Sept. 26th from 2pm to 4pm with local author, Ryan Rickrode. He will also be reading excerpts from two of his books, and we will also hopefully have copies of his books on hand for you to purchase and have signed!! Save the date and be curating your books that you want to come trade with someone else!

Finally, it’s going to be another great weekend, with fresh gluten free sourdough bagels at the cafe Friday and Saturday, and on the food truck on Saturday morning (8am to 12pm) at the Dillsburg Farmers Market! We hope to see you at the farmers market. There is so much goodness there to fill your fridge with!
