Adopt Bonnie!

happy 4th of July from all of us (especially Bonnie!) at the shelter!!! Everyone stay safe and let’s keep all the puppies safe! Make sure every pet is wearing a collar with current identification.

Bonnie is still our longest term resident and is looking for her furever home! We are closed today but call us on Monday to set up a time to meet her🧨🎇💙

We can’t find any green plantains locally so we can’t make our delicious TOSTONES! In Dominican terms, this is like the apocalypse 😂😂😂. Plz comment if you see any near Sylva and include where, about how many, and color (or send a pic!)

Fany used to get big slices of Quesillo when she was growing up in Santo Domingo and learned to make it from her Tia.

Quesillo is the much better Latin American version of Spanish Flan. It’s only got 5 ingredients: Eggs, Powdered Milk, Water, Sugar, and Dominican Vanilla.

It’s SILKY SMOOOOOOOTH!!! $9.

This is soooooo good! According to Fany, Buche de Perico means a Parrot’s Cheek! It is a meal from the Cibao region of the DR. This is a stew w/ chunks of Smoked Pork Loin, Chorizo, Smoked Pork Rib, Corn, and Squash served over fluffy White Rice and a slice of lime.
Open Wed-Sat 11-2 and 3-7.
We’re at 1791 US-441 Sylva. From Dillsboro, take 441 toward Franklin about 1-1/2 miles and look for our bright blue trailer on the left! We’re between A-1 storage and Sylva Farm Supply. Slow down and turn your blinker on early before you turn!
