“31 years old shouldn’t mean fighting for your life.”

I don’t personally know Michael Collins, but a friend mentioned him during a conversation, and his story has stayed with me.

I keep thinking about when I was 31. That’s one of the most beautiful ages — building a future, chasing dreams, and believing life is just beginning.

For the past four years, Michael has been battling cancer. Now at just 34 years old, he’s facing a fight no one should ever have to endure. He’s gone through grueling treatments, and right now he can’t even eat and speak because of his condition. It’s hard to imagine the strength it takes just to get through each day.

Michael’s mom, Leslie, shared with me that someone generously flew them to Texas for appointments and treatment, and even provided them with a hotel to stay in. In moments like this, you truly see how much kindness still exists in the world.

Sometimes you don’t need to know someone your entire life to care deeply about them. Sometimes the right thing is simply to help.

Peking will be hosting a 3-day fundraiser for Michael Collins from June 8 through June 10. During these three days, 100% of profits will go directly toward helping Michael with his medical and financial expenses. We will also have a donation box available at the restaurant for anyone who would like to contribute further.

Our community has always had a big heart. If you can stop by, share this post, or keep him in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean more than words can say.

Because 34 is far too young to fight a battle like this alone. ❤️

We truly appreciate our amazing community—your kindness and generosity made this fundraiser so special again .🙏

Doing a 3-day fundraiser was such a great idea. Everything ran so smoothly, and thanks to all of you, we were able to serve everyone without running out of food this time!

Together, we have raised:
• $3,510 from 3 days of profits
• Plus additional donations from our donation box

We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you who showed up, shared, and supported. This wouldn’t have been possible without you all!

Having difficulty recalling your previous order at Peking? That’s alright… we also struggle to remember our breakfast 😅. Simply ask Sandy—she’s essentially the human “order history” 😂. Now listen carefully… If you receive your food and you’re dissatisfied, please provide a photo as proof that you’re genuinely unhappy 😂📸. We value satisfied customers, but also appreciate a good laugh!

❤️ Supporting Sierra: Creating Unforgettable Memories for Her Children

As a mother of five, the prospect of having limited time with my children is heartbreaking. Unfortunately, this is the reality for Sierra, a 26-year-old mother of four.

These young children are at risk of losing their mother, who provides them with comfort, love, laughter, and a sense of safety. However, we can collectively make a positive impact by helping create meaningful moments for Sierra and her children.

Peking is hosting a fundraiser to support Sierra and her family. All donations will be allocated towards creating lasting memories for her children, including family outings, special experiences, and quality time filled with love.

Our community has consistently demonstrated remarkable support in our previous fundraisers, with events selling out within hours. To accommodate the overwhelming response, we have extended this fundraiser to three days, providing more opportunities for participation.

Fundraiser Dates: April 6 – April 8, 2026
100% of profits will be donated
A donation jar will be available at the front counter

As a parent, imagine the pain of not having enough time with your child. As a member of this community, imagine this happening to someone close to you.

Let us come together to support Sierra and provide her children with love, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

Every contribution, whether it be a meal, donation, or share, can make a significant difference.

Please help us make every moment count.

Sincerely,
Min Lin

We would like to provide a clear update regarding the donations. All funds collected have been dropped off in check form to the Dexter Police Department. The department will then deliver the funds directly to Mathis Funeral Home to ensure the donations are properly applied toward the funeral expenses resulting from this tragic accident.

Everyone at Peking continues to grieve alongside the family during this incredibly difficult time. We are deeply moved by how supportive our community has been, and we sincerely appreciate the love, care, and generosity everyone has shown.

❤️ Stand With the Dexter Family – February 14

Our hearts are shattered.

The Dexter family lost three precious lives in a devastating house fire — ages 43, 13, and just 5 years old.

A 43-year-old taken too soon.
A 13-year-old with dreams still unfolding.
And a 5-year-old whose beautiful life had barely even begun.

In one tragic moment, a family lost loved ones, memories, and their home. As parents this breaks us deeply.

On February 14, Peking will donate 100% of the day’s profits directly to the family to help with funeral expenses and rebuilding their lives.

We kindly encourage takeout orders, and we will continue serving until we are sold out. A donation box will also be available — every dollar matters.

Please join us.
Order a meal. Share this post. Keep this family in your prayers.

When one family hurts, our whole community feels it. Together, we can help them find strength and light again.

With love and gratitude,
Min Sandy Lin
